WATER CIVIL WORKS FOR THE RAMALLO DOCK (2005)

DESCRIPTION /
A complete harbor was built over the Paraná River: 4 loading towers, 4 berthing dolphins, 2 mooring towers and the pathways connecting the main tower with the 4 loading towers. The work was completed with footbridges, bridge piles, conveyor belt and shiploader assembly and the loading and transfer rack assembly. The entire work added up to 10,000 m3 of concrete and 1,800 t of steel. The loading towers were built with a concrete slide system.

BULK PORT AND ADDITIONAL FACILITIES FOR MOLINOS (2004-2005)

DESCRIPTION / This project consisted of building a continuous 135m-long wharf at the Paraná River for bulk transport. The pre-manufactured beams were built and mounted. In total, 60 piles Ø 1500mm were deployed in the water and land, and 6,300 m3 of concrete was used.

USHUAIA HARBOR EXPANSION (1999)

DESCRIPTION / The commercial wharf area was increased by 16,000m2. The harbor was divided into 4 areas:

Areas 1, 2 y 3:
- Wharf extension: 520m
- Total area: 12,242 m2


Area 4:
- - Sheet piling for new docking side: 164m – Total area: 3,800 m2

In total, 161 piles Ø 1200mm were installed and 19,000m2 of pavement was laid. 15,000m3 of concrete and 5,200 t of cement were used. ×

BERTHING WHARF FOR CAR CARRIERS (2007)

DESCRIPTION /
Every job carried out for this Principal has been a turnkey project. The basic plan consisted of building a 200m-long dock. Later on, the dock was expanded by 45m to make it suitable for Full Containers (this job was completed without affecting the operations of the original dock) and finally a 30 m-long berthing wharf was built. The work was completed with the construction of mooring towers, dolphins, light towers, rubber fenders, bollards, stairs, and every addition needed to operate the facility. Finally, the concrete slab and surface course were built, and rails were installed for Panamax cranes.

FLAMMABLE WHARF REMODELING (1992)

DESCRIPTION / This project involved the remodeling of the wharf for flammable products in the Dock Sud Refinery, without affecting normal operations. In total, the project covered 420m of wharf length, driving 5,900m of steel jackets. Also, 1,200,000m3 were dredged.

BRIDGE OVER LIMAY RIVER (1984)

DESCRIPTION / This project involved the construction of a 330m-long bridge over the fast-flowing Limay River, used as a "service bridge" for the construction of the Piedra del Águila reservoir. Once that important hydroelectric project was completed, the bridge became a road link between the Provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro. Premolded and prestressed beams were employed. For the assembly, the launching system was used. The work was completed with the installment of railings, fenders, lighting, etc.

INTERNATIONAL POSADAS – ENCARNACIÓN ROAD & RAILROAD BRIDGE (1980-1981)

DESCRIPTION / It is a road and railroad bridge over the Paraná River joining the cities of Posadas (Argentina) and Encarnación (Paraguay). The project involved building the land access section (296m), the side viaducts (1,980m), the main bridge (570m), the west railroad access (730m), the border station, the railroad (2,650m) and the additional facilities (lighting system, river buoys, airway beacons, etc.). In total, 27,000m3 of concrete slab, 31,000m3 of post-stressed concrete and 6,900t of steel were used.

INTERNATIONAL COLÓN – PAYSANDÚ BRIDGE (1970)

DESCRIPTION / The General Artigas Bridge is an international road bridge crossing the Uruguay River and joining the cities of Colón (Argentina) and Paysandú (Uruguay). The work consisted of building all the foundations for this important, 2,350m-long bridge with a main span of 140m, two spans of 97.50m and a viaduct composed of 44 spans of 46m each. Over a period of 6 months, all piles were completed, working on both land and water.

GENERAL URQUIZA RAILWAY BRIDGE RENOVATION (1986 – 1988)

DESCRIPTION / Renovation of 10 bridges on the General Urquiza Railway. The job consisted of rebuilding embankments, access roads and the bridges damaged by the 1982 floods. The superstructure was built with 20m-span, 50t prestressed and premolded beams and the foundations were built with large-diameter piles constructed on the site.

CONSTRUCTION OF COASTAL FENDERS FOR THE RÍO DE LA PLATA (2010)

DESCRIPTION / This job involved the construction of a new north promenade, locally called 'Costanera Norte', for the City of Buenos Aires, gaining an extra 260,000 m3 of land from the river. A parking lot was built on 116 piles over the river and a mixed fender system was deployed along 840 meters of coast using sheet piling and the CODE system.

LAKE LA SALADA REGULATION SYSTEM (ongoing)

DESCRIPTION / / In order to handle and control lake La Salada, a closure embankment is built and a lake flood control system is deployed. The railroad sewage system will even the lake level and enable regular water flow on both sides of the railroad embankment crossing said lake. The work will be completed with the dredging of a canal extending from the lake flood control system to the railroad sewage system.

CONSTRUCTION, EXPANSION AND REPAIR OF BERTHING WHARF FOR FLAMMABLE PRODUCTS (2011)


PRINCIPAL / Endesa Costanera S.A.


DESCRIPTION / A new site was built for 120m-long vessels, and the existing wharf was transformed into a work platform for receiving fuels. Therefore, the docking side length was extended, enabling simultaneous operations at both sites. Cranes were assembled and all facilities (fuel, fire protection, communications, alarms and signs) were provided for the correct operation of both sites. The existing wharf continued regular operations during the course of the project.

RELOCATION OF NATIONAL ROUTE 12 BRIDGE OVER YABEBIRY RIVER (2010)

DESCRIPTION / All river and land foundations for said bridge were built. A total of 185 piles were fit with basaltic rock.

FENDERS AGAINST SHIP IMPACT FOR GENERAL BELGRANO BRIDGE (ongoing)


PRINCIPAL / National Highway Administration


DESCRIPCIÓN / This project is being developed over the Paraná River, specifically in an area with high levels of ship and barge circulation. The work consists of building fenders against ship impact. Approximately 20,000m3 of concrete, 234t of plate sheet and 2,100t of steel will be employed. In addition, the current floating fenders will be dry-repaired and then reinstalled.
